Melanie Faith’s craft book about how to write flash fiction and nonfiction, entitled In a Flash! was published in April 2018, and a craft book for poets, Poetry Power, was published in late October 2018 (also by Vine Leaves Press).
Her historical poetry collection, This Passing Fever, set in 1918's influenza epidemic, was published by FutureCycle press in September 2017. She is also the author of a series of narrative poems, set during WWII, called Catching the Send-off Train (published by Wordrunner eChapbooks).
Her writing has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes. She is a professor, tutor, editor, and photographer. She holds an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte.
She is currently working on new poems and photos, including a poetry-illustration collaboration project. Melanie collects quotes, books, and twinkly costume-jewelry pins, and she enjoys spending time with her darling nieces.
This August-October, she is teaching a Poetry Thesis Writing class for graduate students.
In September 2019, she’ll teach an online writing workshop called Food Writing for Fun and Profit. In October 2019, she’ll teach In a Flash: Writing and Publishing Dynamic Flash Prose.
Her next book, Photography for Writers, is forthcoming from Vine Leaves Press in November 2019.
