Melanie Faith’s writing has been published in numerous literary journals and small presses and has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes. She finds joy writing and teaching in several genres, including: poetry, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, flash nonfiction, photography, and instructional/craft articles about the writing process. She likes creating prose and poetry about both historical and modern times.
She is an English professor in Southern New Hampshire University’s MA in English program, a tutor at a college-preparatory boarding school, and a freelance writing consultant for Women on Writing! and independent-study students. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Queens University of Charlotte, N.C.
Her still-life, architectural, and nature photography has been featured on literary magazine covers, on books of poetry, and as cover art for a nonfiction book. She sells prints of her work at Write Path Productions. She is a winner of Brain Mill Press's Mineral Point Photography Call.
Her historical poetry collection, This Passing Fever, set in 1918's influenza epidemic, was published by FutureCycle press in early September 2017. A craft book about how to write flash fiction and nonfiction, entitled In a Flash! Writing & Publishing Dynamic Flash Prose will be published by Vine Leaves Press is forthcoming in early 2018, and a craft book for poets, Poetry Power,will be published in October 2018 (also by Vine Leaves Press). Her Jane-Austen style Regency novella was also published in September 2017 by Uncial Press.
In her free time, she collects quotes, books, and shoes; learns about still-life photography and the Tiny-House movement; and travels to spend time with her darling nieces.
